Massey Energy Storage
Massey Energy Storage is a utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) proposed in the city of Baytown, which will provide significant benefits to the local community.
Over the 20-year lifespan of the project, Massey Storage is estimated to contribute more than $20 million in property tax revenue, including $4.5 million for the Goose Creek CISD and almost $3 million for the city of Baytown, supporting local education and public services.

Massey Storage will transform vacant land into a functional energy storage facility, enhancing grid reliability in Baytown. The facility will incorporate low-maintenance vegetation to support biodiversity and efficiently store energy from various sources to ensure reliable power delivery across the area.

Energizing Tomorrow's Leaders Scholarship Program
In 2025 Cypress Creek awarded $115,000 in scholarships across the country through the 2025 Energizing Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship program. Harris County area students, Taylor Nguyen, Nathaniel Allen and Dina Duro, were three of the nine Texas graduating seniors selected to receive an award.
Each student was awarded a one-time $2,500 scholarship to use towards tuition, housing, books or materials for their post-graduation program of choice. As part of the application process, the students were asked to submit a short video responding to the question, “How does renewable energy affect your future?”
The Energizing Tomorrow’s Leaders scholarship program was launched in 2023 to positively impact young people in the communities where Cypress Creek develops and operates solar and battery storage projects, as well as to encourage students to consider careers in renewable energy or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) fields.
Partners in Education sponsorship
This school year Cypress Creek Renewables is participating in the Harris County Department of Education’s Partners in Education sponsorship program (PIE). Throughout the year Cypress Creek will be helping to fill needs within Goose Creek Consolidated ISD. As the new school year kicked off this August our team sponsored breakfast and lunch for teachers at Stephen F. Austin Elementary School in Baytown, Texas.
